MEET THE KINDRED

Nick Younger
President/Gothi

I've always believed what I believed, despite different upbringings in faith. It wasn't until I did my own research that I realized that most of my beliefs were side by side with Norse Paganism. After some studying of my own, influence by family members, and digging into my lineage and ancestors I finally realized why I am the way I am, and why I am who I am today. Many of my views on life were identical to the nine virtues far before I knew what the nine virtues were and despite their creation by the wrong people, they are found in our Norse sources such as the Eddas, and Sagas. The nine virtues to me are critical in life because despite where your faith may lay, or how you feel about their creator, most of them are common sense to live a wonderful, happy life, and since they were pulled and built in reference from our faith sources, I believe they can be used correctly. My experience with multiple groups, and Asatru communities have been far but pleasant unfortunately, including big name communities that are popular on social media. I feel good people go to these groups and communities for help and guidance, only to be made a target by lots of social media tough guys. After my most recent experiences with the most recent community I was in did I realize that, I myself wanted to build a place where people can go to learn, ask, study, and participate at their own will, without being judged or being made an example of. This is why I built the NFK, a place for Norse Pagans, and Pagans of all, to communicate, build relations, participate, and get the answers they need without the social media hate that many receive. You can say I've been Norse Pagan for many years now in a cultural aspect, but I have only started to participate in practice again in the last 10 years. I have sat down and did my independent research and reading, along with experience in my own practice. I do not believe any one man has all the answers, for Asatru is the faith of study. As Odin did in the myths, we all must never settle for the knowledge that we receive, for we should strive for more and more, and this alone is worth building the NFK, so many can share and learn about this wonderful faith.

DOMONIQUE ROBARDEY

Kindred Member

Hello,

My name is Domonique and I am a proud affiliate of the NFK. I have recently showed interest in old Germanic, and Celtic paganism, along with Norse Paganism. I have always battled Christianity. As a child it was thrown upon me, people continued to cast it's beliefs upon me as I grew up. I come from Irish lineage, and I am always in search of like minded people wanting to find out more about their heritage and ancestors. This is how I found the NFK. Although it's a Norse Pagan belief, President Nick Younger also reaches out into other pagan religions, cross referencing the faiths of similar beliefs to help better explain what Asatru truly is. I am excited to be connected to like minded people, and I'm excited to celebrate paganism with my brothers and sisters of the kindred.

My name is Justin,

I grew up in Southern California in a household and town that was heavy on Christianity beliefs. I was forced to follow and abide by those rules and was constantly berated for speaking out against it. When I was around 14 years old I began studying and learning other faiths. When I came across Norse Paganism I was drawn towards it and everything I started studying about it lined up with what I believed in.

After many trials in life I finally met the love of my life Ashley. Ashley’s family was also heavily into Christianity and it drove me insane. Since I knew I was going to be with Ashley forever I did everything for her including going against what I believed in to make them happy. This tore me apart and felt like I had failed, Ashley was also open to changing beliefs and researching other ideals.

After our daughter Madison passed away in 2020 I told Ashley what was tearing me apart and that I want to get back into what I truly believe and need to stop putting on this face of someone I’m not. Ashley agreed and we have been stronger ever since.

I am beyond excited that we have found NFK and can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

My name is Ashley France,

I was born in Oklahoma but mostly raised in Texas. I’ve been through a lot of things in life (childhood cancer, many surgeries, autoimmune diseases, infant loss etc.) so I feel as though I’m pretty easy to connect with.

I was raised in a Christian household, hard set on *give 10%, pray, worship God*. When I was about 22 I finally started to realize that these beliefs don’t match with what I truly believe in this world. I don’t believe that there is one sole God and creator, I believe that there is a much more broad definition. I started searching into the Pagan beliefs in 2020 and focused moreso on Wicca/Nature Based Paganism and that’s where the majority of my faith lies but I also deeply resonate with Norse beliefs especially Freya as fertility and sexuality are major interests for me. Major aspects of Norse beliefs that speak to me are courage and truth; I expect truth in all aspects of my life and courage is something I hold myself to daily.

I hope to gain community from the NFK.

Hello, my name is Callie. I have always been Pagan but as a child attended Baptist Church as a more of a way to conform to social and cultural norms expected in rural Texas. It never felt comfortable. While serving the United States Army and as a Law Enforcement officer I came to Norse Paganism. Tribal life, learning, and following along the same path as my Kindred is like a breath of fresh air religiously. The exchange of knowledge and experience is invaluable. NFK is a tribe but also a family that provides resources and safety to develop and explore Norse Paganism.

Rylan

Hello, I am Rylan, also known as Rye. My journey to paganism began with a desire for acceptance and belonging, which I never found in traditional churches. Instead, I felt judged, and unwelcome. However, I have always been drawn to spirituality and the idea that there is something more out there. Through research and exploration, I discovered my ancestral roots in the Viking era, which sparked a fascination with their gods and way of life. As I continue this path, I am experiencing a profound transformation, becoming a better version of myself, and cultivating compassion and empathy. The NFK has become a source of brotherhood and support, demonstrating the true meaning of family and community. I am grateful for this journey and love the connection I have found along the way.

Hail.  My name is Bryan.  Born and raised in Texas.  I have always struggled with the faith that my hometown shoved in my face.  I could hear something calling to me but couldn’t find what it was.  I lost myself along the way and got in some trouble, The only way to get back to myself was to get back out into nature.  In 2020 I realized that all the things that I related to were unconventional to modern day society and was considered Pagan.  After some research I found that I was Norse Pagan and what was calling to me was my Ancestors.  When I found Nine Faith Kindred, I knew I had found my family and I was home.

Hail the Gods and Goddesses, Hail Odin, and Hail to my brothers and Sisters.

Crystal

My name is Crystal.  I was born and raised in the outer Fort Worth area.  I was raised Catholic and Baptist and went to a Lutheran church.  I have been lost in my faith for a long time now until Paganism was brought to me.  I was skeptical at first, but my brothers and sister of Nine Faith Kindred never once forced or pushed Paganism upon me.  They let me find my own way to an amazing community.  My ole man has been Pagan for a while and he was the same way.

I was very nervous meeting the kindred for the fellowship and the first event I went to.  After all, according to GPS, it was out in a pasture.  In all actuality it was over at Brother Justin and Sister Ashley’s gorgeous house.  This wasn’t my turning point.  I was still wanting to learn more about Paganism and meet more of the Kindred.  My true turning point was when I was going through some PTSD issues from my past, I reached out to Sister Veronica to help me and cleanse me.  We spent well over an hour in that room cleansing and talking about her visions.  Please don’t think Veronica can just snap her fingers and see the visions…They come to her when they want to!!  For the Kindred I wouldn’t change them at all.  There are several others that have helped me see the truth calling to me but this is a bio not a book. That being said, we brought a little cousin with us to Disablot.  She has been Pagan for a while but has kept is quiet due to the family upbringing.  I was crying when she said that same words I did about Nine Faith Kindred….It is HOME.

That doesn’t mean that it will be for everyone, but I would really like to invite you to have a fellowship and meet a few of the Kindred.  We are an aggressively loving loud, fun and honest group.  I feel like every time we are together that I learn something new something intriguing about Paganism.  I see how “Christian people” look at Paganism and all I can do is smile and wave.  I have found a home that shows love for each other, honesty from my brothers and sisters, and knowledge and community from the Kindred.

Nikki Ranta
Hi my name is Nikki! I am 33 and was looking for something more than Christianity. I was searching for something deeper, and I have found it in Norse Paganism and in this Kindred. I have made some deep, meaningful relationships within this kindred and for not being in this Kindred vary long, that is amazing to me. I never got out of Christianity what I am getting out of this faith. I am excited for this journey and the adventure. Thank you to Odin and to Freyja for calling me home.
